One week at the Academy and two competing: this is the format of the Persico 69F REVOLUTION CUP. It is a team-based event for 40 crews who spend one week at the Academy learning everything about the foils and two weeks racing. One of the weeks is for sailors Under 25.
The event takes place in Gargnano, on Lake Garda from 30 July to 19 August. During the first week, crews can attend a special session at the Academy.
Each week 20 crews will compete, following a racing chart. Crews will rotate on five boats. On the first of the three days of regattas, the qualifying K.O. Series will be raced and everyone will compete against everyone; the quarter-finals and semi-finals will be contended on the second day. On the last day the teams will sail in the repechage round and the finals.
Week 1 of racing, from 7 to 12 August, will be reserved for crews Under 25. Yacht Clubs and international sailing teams can send their best young sailors to specialise and race on foils in the YFL – Youngsters Foiling Challenge 2020.
The following week, from 14 to 19 August, will be open to foiling teams with no age limit, and the young sailors that raced the week before can also join.
The first Revolution Cup will go the Club that will have entered a senior and a junior team who will have ranked best in the general ranking.
This event aims to bring crews closer to the world of 69Fs and to give Under 25s the chance to develop the Foiling Clubs League and introduce them to this speciality.
