ONLY TWO RACES SAILED FOR LIGHT STORMY WINDS
Light stormy wind today in Malcesine, Lake Garda, for day two of the Algebris 69F Cup. Two races were sailed with the southerly breeze event though it was shifting in direction and intensity, the ten teams were put in a lot of pressure and their tactical skills were highly tested today, as well as their maneuverings.
“The forecast were not in our favour today – commented Race Director Dede De Luca – so we are pleased we were able to close at least these two races even if in tough conditions. Tomorrow we hope to be able to finish the last six races, with the last warning signals at 3pm.”
The leader before the last day is Groupe Atlantic (FRA) followed by Katana (SUI) and Oceana Vivo (GBR).
The 10th Foiling Week is getting on with their plan filling the lake in front of Fraglia Vela Malcesine of all kind of different foiling boards and boats, with the 69F still being the only one-design, full foiling monohulls for crew, with two established circuits, the open Algebris 69F Cup and the one for the Under25, the Youth Foiling Gold Cup. And a new entry, the Women Foiling Gold Cup, at the beginning of September in Gargnano.
