FIVE FLIGHTS AND 40 RACES COMPLETED, EIGHT MORE TOMORROW TO DETERMINE THE GOLD FLEET

Sunshine e wind blowing from the north welcomed the 16 under 25 teams at Circolo Vela Torbole, on Lake Garda, for day 4 of the ITAS 69F YFGC – Act 4. Soon after the 11 O’clock morning briefing the wind had turned and by 12,55 the first cannon went off with 8-10 knots for the first round of six teams, which was race 29 overall. 12 races followed to have a total of 40 in the bag and a whole flight finished for the eager fleet.

 

If the qualifying series finished today the top six teams to enter the Gold Fleet would be: Luna Rossa Swordfish (ITA), the most consistent in the fleet so far, Oceana Vivo (GBR), Clean Sailors Youth Racing Team (SUI), Luna Rossa Piranha (ITA), Antigua Rum Runners (ANT) and Team Argentina (ARG), with the French of Groupe Atlantic at the moment being of the Silver Fleet – and excluded by the possibility to earn a ticket to the YFGC Grand Final in Barcelona.

 

The sixth flight is in the plan for tomorrow, with 8 races for the 16 teams, to have the final ranking of the qualifying series and know who will access the Gold Fleet.
