THE DUTCH TEAM ON 69F

The Dutch Team trains on the Persico 69F.

69F Team is proud to announce that the Persico 69F has been chosen as the training vessel for the Youth America’s Cup by Kingdom Team Netherlands, the Dutch team of the Royal yacht club KWVL Koninklijke Watersport – Vereeniging “Loosdrecht”. This is the first Dutch team to qualify for the Youth Americas’s Cup, which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021 in New Zealand, and consists of Odile van Aanholt, Bart Lambriex, Emma Savelon, Jorden van Rooijen and two other youngsters yet to be selected.

The young Dutch athletes held the first training sessions on the Persico 69F in the Netherlands in June and will continue training on the 69F following a tight schedule in Italy. “The Persico 69F – stated Dede De Luca, Chief Sailing Officer del Team 69F – is the foiling monohull that many crews enrolled in the Youth America’s Cup have identified as the best to learn and train on to master sailing on foiling monohulls. The images that come to us from Holland are exciting, because they show how the new generations of sailors are “native foilers”, and are taking to this way of navigating with our innovative monotype with great ease”.

69F Team is organizing an ad hoc program for Under 25 crews who want to compete in foiling. In August, as part of the REVOLUTION CUP held in Gargnano, an entire week of regattas will feature Italian and foreign teams, including some teams already enrolled in the Youth America’s Cup.
