ValenciaMar Sailing Week, Rum Runners defend the lead on Day 2

Valencia, Spain – The second day of the ValenciaMar Sailing week, which is the first event of the 2023 Algebris 69F Cup, took place today with seven boats racing in very light wind conditions ranging from 6 to 7 knots from the north-east. Unfortunately, the boats were never up on the foil due to the light wind.

Despite the challenging conditions, three races were sailed, with Katana (SUI), CER – Banque du LĂ©man (SUI), and Groupe Atlantic (FRA) each winning one race. The teams demonstrated their skills and perseverance in navigating the light winds, which made for a highly competitive day of racing.

The Rum Runners from Antigua maintained their overall lead in the ranking, with Katana and Groupe Atlantic following closely behind. With six more races scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday, the competition promises to be fierce as teams battle for the ultimate prize.

The ValenciaMar Sailing week is the first event of the 2023 Algebris 69F Cup, which is an exciting new series of sailing events that brings together some of the world’s top sailors to compete in high-speed foiling boats.
