“The first day of the 69F Pro Cup got the recipe right for a perfect day of racing… top professional sailors, fast foiling boats and sparkling waters off the Sicilian coast.
Fans of the 69F circuit got used to seeing Team DutchSail – Janssen de Jong at the front of the fleet, and, despite the talent on tap, they again stamped their authority on the day’s proceedings.
The Dutch won 5 out of 6 races, with Sail GP helmsman Phil Robertson just ahead of third-placed Checco Bruni.
As the teams roll into their daily debriefs, the question now is how fast can the big names master the intricacies of the foiling 69F so they can take the fight to the youngsters!”
