LIGHT WIND ON DAY ONE IN PORTOROSE FOR GP4

Racing at the Algebris 69F Cup Grand Prix 4 in Portorose, Slovenia, has begun today with a beautiful sunny sky and nice temperatures. The wind though behaved in an unexpected way, with light breeze coming from the North at about 6/7 knots. The six teams had to do their best with marginal foiling conditions in today’s only two races. The bullets went to Groupe Atlantic (FRA) and Rum Runners (ANT), with the first one leading the provisional overall ranking at the end of day one. Oceana Vivo (GBR) is second, only one point behind the French and in third there are the Antiguans.

“It was different sailing from the usual, no foiling and lots of pumping, it was very interesting, we have seen many lead changes, it was a fun and a big learning curve for Team Marga”, said a happy Alessandra Angelini.

Back ashore the teams were entertained with an Après Sail pasta and drinks by the Marina Portoroz pool, and later this evening they will attend the event Crew Dinner.

Tomorrow, the wind is forecast to arrive later in the afternoon, so the races will likely take place after 2pm.
